To say we’re pleased is a bit of an understatement to say the least. We’re over the moon at having scooped the prize for Best Newcomer at the Yorkshire Business Masters Awards 2020.
Hosted by TheBusinessDesk.com, the ceremony celebrates the successes of businesses throughout the county. As has been the case for many events this year, proceedings were well and truly shaken up after COVID reared its ugly head and put a halt to the usual black-tie function, paving the way for a live-streamed envelope-opening instead.
The ceremony going online is a prime example of why video-based communication platforms are on the rise, and potentially indicative of at least one of the reasons for which we won the award in the first place. It’s truly unfortunate that it was a global pandemic that necessitated widespread adoption of the medium, but the reliance on remote communication has opened everyone’s eyes to the massive array of applications available. Where VC had been simmering away on the back burner for many businesses, 2020 made them take the leap.
That’s where SimplyVideo comes in. We’re more than aware that we’re not the only video comms system on the market, but we provide more in an all-encompassing platform that not only speaks to any other system you may have, but also works with some awesome peripherals that offer some jaw-dropping functionality – and that’s barely scratching the surface.
We’re all incredibly proud of SimplyVideo and the service we offer. This award is a huge boon for us because it’s not only amazing to have our hard work recognised, but also to know that our innovation is heading in the right direction – thanks to a prestigious judging panel validating what we do.
We’re even more flattered with the prize considering there was some seriously stiff competition from startups including Crescent Virtual Assistant, Lifestyle Flooring UK, Meteoric Marketing, and Slanted Theory – who were all shortlisted. It was a real honour to be listed alongside these fantastic Yorkshire businesses, and therefore an even greater privilege to come away with the gold.
Alex, SimplyVideo’s CEO, was blown away by the result.
“This is our first award of what I hope will be many. We have massive ambitions for SimplyVideo as, due to COVID, video is now an essential part of business infrastructure. We’re not aiming to compete directly with Zoom and Microsoft, but to deliver video into business processes alongside the best AR / VR technology and devices. Our product works alongside or as an extension to these core video platforms as an additional element for any organisation to deliver a full video strategy”Alex Deighton, CEO SimplyVideo
Having built up the business since July 2019, it’s required an absolute ton of hard work and dedication to build SimplyVideo into the platform it is today – particularly as a certain virus necessitated some course correction on the fly. Nevertheless, SimplyVideo remains firmly on the right track and we’re grinning ear to ear with our first award victory.
