What is SimplyVideo?

SimplyVideo is a video collaboration platform that works on desktops, portable devices and a wide range of XR wearables.

This interoperability is key. We've designed SimplyVideo to facilitate smooth digital transformation and connect all tiers of the modern workforce. This means supporting as wide a range of devices as possible.

SimplyVideo is available as a device-agnostic web app that works anywhere. It's also available as an optimised app for various XR devices such as the Vuzix M400, RealWear Navigator, Magic Leap 2 and Lenovo A3

What can SimplyVideo do?

SimplyVideo supercharges enterprise videoconferencing. It delivers a suite of XR-ready, collaboration-focused features to enable a wide range of transformative use cases.

Digital transformation with AR devices

  • Remote expert services: SimplyVideo harnesses the front-facing cameras of XR devices to stream high-quality, see-what-I-see video. Collaborators get a close-up view of the action, so they can deliver step-by-step guidance or capture data as if they were there.
  • Voice control for workflows: as an XR-optimised application, SimplyVideo can be controlled exclusively and intuitively using voice commands. This means frontline workers can keep their hands free to focus on the task in front of them.

  • Bandwidth optimisation: we know that downtime is dead time. That's why SimplyVideo is designed to perform capably in situations where internet bandwidth is limited. This makes it especially valuable for mobile workers or those in geographically remote locations.

  • Chat 4.0: unique to SimplyVideo, Chat 4.0 is the next generation of enterprise chat. It boasts a range of features that aim to simplify collaboration and harness the power of XR. Chat 4.0 allows users to annotate screenshots, capture video, share documents and more.

  • 3D asset visualisation: when used with augmented reality (AR) devices like the Magic Leap 2, SimplyVideo allows users to view, manipulate and collaborate on 3D assets in AR space. This feature has enormous potential for education, training and product development.

What integrations are available?

Integrations are an essential pillar of SimplyVideo's interoperable approach. That's why we've made sure it works seamlessly alongside popular videoconferencing apps like Microsoft Teams and Google Meet.

Using SimplyVideo, an XR-equipped field operative can dial into a call with an office worker using Microsoft Teams. The field operative enjoys an optimised, voice-controlled user experience, while the office worker can stick with the UI they've used for years.

And the integrations don't end with videoconferencing apps. SimplyVideo also works with a range of AI and workflow productivity solutions, as well as social media platforms and hardware like drones and meeting room AV devices.

This means customers never have to settle for vendor lock-in or complicated, half-baked deployments. SimplyVideo is like a skeleton key that unlocks XR functionality in any pre-existing ecosystem. It minimises deployment headaches and helps customers hit the ground running with their digital transformation.

How is SimplyVideo supporting developers?

We've launched the SimplyVideo SDK for Unity and Magic Leap devices.

This is big news for AR development. For the first time, our SDK allows developers to integrate collaborative video content into their Unity projects without relying on reams of code or hours of research.

It's a low-code solution that bridges the gap between 3D and 2D in AR. Finally, developers can include videoconferencing features as easily as any other Unity object.

Imagine, for instance, a training app that teaches engineers how to repair machinery components. The developers could include a "Call for help" button that connects the trainee to a remote expert. Pressing the button brings up a 2D screen in 3D space and initiates a two-way WebRTC stream – the trainee sees the expert on webcam, while the expert enjoys an immersive view of the trainee's 3D environment.

The technology can also function as a "Share" button for AR content. A user in AR space could, for instance, share their point of view with a boardroom full of executives or cast it to a remote video call with multiple participants. This feature alone has huge potential for design ideation sessions and client meetings.

And, of course, because the SDK uses SimplyVideo as a foundation, it allows developers and users to seamlessly integrate Microsoft Teams and Google Meet content – right out of the box.

We'll provide our SDK on a white-label basis – just like the SimplyVideo platform itself. This means you can start creating feature-rich, collaborative apps that use your branding and speak to your users.
